I created the 3d skeletal reconstruction for the team that recovered the new remains of Spinosaurus (including the now-famous tail, which confirmed its semiaquatic adaptations). This reconstruction is now exhibited as a full-scale 1:1 printed mount at the Field Museum in Chicago (and was previously featured at the Big8 exhibition in Hong Kong).
It was the result of an extensive research process, combining restoration of missing elements and retrodeformation of the recovered bones, on what is today one of the most complete and spectacular african dinosaur specimens ever found.
The project was carried out in collaboration with Prehistoric Minds, DIMA and Gigabones (for the 3D printing and photogrammetry of the original fossils). I also had the privilege of joining the latest excavations in Morocco for the recovery of these remarkable remains.
